Delhi College of Arts & Commerce is a co-educational college affiliated to Delhi University. With more than 2500 students, the college has excelled both in academics and extra-curricular activities. The college has 12 departments under which eleven UG programmes are offered. Apart from undergraduate Programmes, the college also offers Certification courses in two disciplines, Basic Course in Mass Media and Add-on course in German language. DCAC was formed in 1987 under the aegis of Delhi Administration and the Govt. of NCT provides 5% financial aid for the college. The college is located in Netaji Nagar in the South Campus of Delhi University. DCAC is accredited by NAAC Grade ‘B+’ and ranked 31 in Arts stream by Indiatoday, 2021. Among all DU colleges, DCAC is the first college to start a 3 year Honours Programme in Journalism in July-August 1989. They adopt research and innovation based methodologies to motivate and encourage the students to participate in the learning sessions. Through insightful lectures, seminars, workshops, power-point presentations and conferences, they try to make the learning sessions interesting and interactive. The college offers various facilities for the students like library, computer lab, sports medical aids etc. The library includes more than 56 thousand books, subscriptions of 15 newspapers, 30 journals/periodicals. There are 4 computer labs which are equipped with printers, desktop machines, laptops, projectors and scanners. The college tries to maintain the physical fitness of students by introducing various sports activities like, Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, Table Tennis and other sports facilities. The placement cell of DCAC is named ‘Broadway’, and it works towards preparing the students for the corporate world. The cell organises placement drives every year and invites reputed companies to participate in the campus drives and hire several aspirants of the college. The college has a placement cell which invites several renowned companies every year. The highest salary package is offered at INR 6 LPA. Candidates need to score at least 6 CGPA to be eligible for the placement exam. Prestigious companies who participated in the placement drives include Zee Media, ICICI Prudential, L & T and a lot more. Through the TanZeal Project, DCAC provides educational facilities to the children belonging from the neighbouring under-priviledged areas. The faculty of DCAC includes principal, professors, associate, and assistant professors. All the professors have completed higher studies in their respective fields. The necessary steps to apply are given below: Visit the official website of Delhi University. Register and create their login credentials. The applicants have to register to choose the college and courses of their choice. After successful registration, the candidates must click on the “Apply Now” button. Female applicants can choose to apply for NCWEB. Fill all the eight sections of the application form correctly. The candidates need to upload the necessary documents. Review the application form and proceed to make the payment. Pay the application fee through any electronic payment gateway, viz. Net Banking/ Credit/Debit card. The highest salary package offered to any student in the DCAC was INR 4.7 LPA whereas the average package was INR 3 LPA and the lowest package was INR 2.1 LPA in the placement program 2020-21. For the financial aid the college approves applications and students must submit it before the deadline. This scholarship facility is for the students who are academically good. Some of the services are given below: Post- matric Scholarship: This scholarship is for the students who belong to the reservation categories and it is granted by Directorate Education, Delhi Administration, Delhi. Students who reside in other states need to apply for their application immediately after the admission. Scholarship for the Honours Course: Delhi University every year conducts a competitive examination, All India Entrance Scholarship. The reward value of this aid is INR 250 per month for the three years for Honours course. To be eligible for this examination students must complete higher secondary from CBSE, New Delhi or equivalent examination with 55% marks in aggregate. The last date of form submission is 1st September of every year. The form will be accepted with the required examination fee. The library also has the facility of DEL NET and N-LIST subscription. The library organises a book exhibition in which students are helped to find the required books at a discount. Medical Aid Room: The College has a well equipped medical aid room with a paramedic on duty. The medical room has all the basic medicines that are usually required to treat common ailments, a blood pressure monitor, a pulse monitor, a stretcher and two wheelchairs for emergency purposes. There is also a facility of a counsellor who remains available for twice a week. Sports Facilities: The DCAC college also has the facilities of sports for the students. The sports ground of the college is spacious and provides different sports activities like, synthetic Basketball Court, Volleyball Court, Table Tennis Room, Carrom and Chess Room.
